Review on Enhance Your Edge with Kuromaku Ceramic Whetstone - Medium Grit for Superior Sharpening by Matthew Burnett

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Amazing 1000 grit stone!

I now have 4 Shapton ceramic sharpening stones: 120 grit, 320 grit, 1000 grit and 2000 grit. Each was as good as advertised and worth every penny. Cutting action 4.6/5. Stone wear on blade (up to 60 Rockwell) 4.7/5. However, it is very easy to straighten when it needs flattening and also easy to maintain and clean. I sharpened 6 knives on it: KA-BAR 5.5" Fixed Blade, SOG Seal PUP, Kershaw Oblivion (CPM-154), Kershaw Blur (S30-V), Kershaw Cryo Tanto (8cr13MoV) and old cheap EDC. , I have POSSIBLY lost 0.5mm of the stone. I have attached photos of the stone on the top of the case (which also serves as the base for the stone) with a ruler across it so you can see the measurements. I have also included a photo of the attached rim of my SOG Seal PUP after using this stone (1000 grit) at 45x magnification In my experience this stone is EXTREMELY close to 1000 grit. Unless something totally unexpected happens regarding a defect in this stone, I will soon will buy another one so I will have another in the years to come should they discontinue this line. This is by far the best 1000 grit stone I have ever used (I have KING (3 different versions of their 1000) , SHAP TON GLASS, Suehrio CERAX, NANIWA, GOKUMYO uses DEDABO and a few others), it matters to someone, I used Suehrio CERAX 700 before using it alone.
