That's why I chose this scale (except it looks great!): UPDATE: I also like the big icons on the display - some other scales I'm familiar with , have much smaller displays and are very difficult to use. 1) 5 year warranty is great (hard to find more than 1 year on electronic products) 2) they make a lot of scales (e.g. they are a bit more expensive than others but honestly what is 12$ vs 18- $20 for something that will last 5+ years? And I opted for a cheaper white model rather than an all black one (under $20) 4) The scale has an extended weight range (13 pounds?) with an accuracy of 1 gram, which was also a plus for me. 5) You have a "must have". "With the tare/zero feature, I can just place a bowl on top, press the tare button (one-touch zero) and add ingredients to weigh. 6) Comes with the required batteries and they are readily available AAA types compared to some of the unusual battery sizes you may have to find at the hardware store.
