Review on EcoPlus Outlets Aquarium Fountain Hydroponics by Chris Murphy

Bought to replace a broken pump and a very noisy pump. It was slightly quieter than the noisy pump it replaced on the lowest setting. I bought some airflow reducer valves to try and calm it down even more based on some other reviews which helped a bit too. A bubble wand with thinner holes than the old bubble stones also seemed to help keep the noise (slightly) down. However, after a few months, it seemed like the noise had intensified. I found that the only way to reduce the sound was to lift the device and squeeze from the top and bottom. This reduced the noise by about 80%. I tried tightening the screws but it didn't work. Solution - I wrapped a sanitary band clamp (metal with a screw to tighten) around the pump just behind the adjustment knob and put a domed rubber washer between the clamp and the base of the pump (it really helped getting the base in the plastic without the bearing cutters) . It worked wonderfully, now the pump is nice and quiet. It now makes less noise at full power than before at the lowest setting.
