Review on Kanu Surf Boys Competition Jammers - Boys Swim Clothing by Rene Putman

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Runs a little small (read reviews to get sizing) but good price

UPDATE 04/06/17: We liked the ones we bought last year in medium size so I have bought them again this year. This time we have the BIG one, and it's the same size, no bigger than the medium one. The only difference is that they are an inch longer. boo Will have to send these back. Rating changed from 4 to 2 stars. UPDATE: Purchased in 2016 and now a year later in 2017: the shorts hold up surprisingly well (especially compared to the Nike pair my son has). I think that's a very good price (if you understand that they run small and are the right size). I'm buying a new pair for this season, one size bigger. ORIGINAL REVIEW (4 stars): I read the reviews before purchasing these mufflers. The name of the size is different from other silencers which usually come in waist sizes 22, 24, 26 etc, not Small, Med, Large like these. I think this is where the confusion lies with sizing and also knowing that the jammers are really snug. Other reviews like Maryland Mom & Mom of Boys were very helpful. In short, they said that the sizes are something like this: S=22 M=24 L=26, that they are longer than other brands (e.g. TYR and Nike) and the quality is a bit lower. I ordered the medium for my little 7 year old son (50lbs, 3ft 9in, wears 6 pants). He has last year's Nike sweaters in a size 22 which are a bit small for him but still fit. Medium canoes are not much bigger but are much longer (around the knees). I think we could even buy bigger ones although maybe they are too long. This brand may suit tall thin boys. The material seems okay, a little rougher than his Nike and maybe a little thinner. But for the price they are worth it. Given the way kids sit on pool cement, even the best quality wears out quickly. .
