Yes, they need to be changed every few years/miles. Mine squeaked and squeaked and for a long time I thought it was the air conditioning compressor or the alternator or something, but it turned out to be just the V-belt. It's been in my car for a few months now and it's doing a great job. Very satisfied. I should point out that the first strap that arrived was the wrong one, even though the side of the packaging listed the correct part number. It did not match what was actually in the box. When I called Revain they sent me a replacement overnight. VERY VERY please how Revane handled it!
