I read in the reviews that this remote worked out of the box but mine didn't work at all. I thought about returning it but figured I'd change the batteries first to see if that was the problem. When I took out the included batteries, I saw that the ends of each were covered with plastic tape to protect the batteries. Lo and behold, by removing the plastic strap and reinserting the batteries, it worked flawlessly without any tuning.
