First, they work and are relatively easy to set up; so only a caveman could do it. So why only 3 stars? Like everyone, you get what you pay for. If you're looking for long-term reliability, are in a crowded RF market, or have locations where downtime is expensive or connectivity is critical, don't buy them. Buy a professional, industrial quality product. They cost 10x more, last 10x longer, have better gain and noise reduction. I install this type of product to make a living. They work, but some last 2 months, others 5 years. The competitor's product has an MTBF of 90 years, not the 2-3 years I usually see on them. But if your link isn't critical or you don't have a lot of money, it will work. Just plan to swap them out from time to time and you're good to go. They're great for non-critical applications, short-term connections, or extending your home network to a detached garage, barn, or shop. Use a thin strip around the lid. I've found that keeping moisture out gets me an extra year or two of it.
