Review on Phanteks Mid Tower PH EC400ATG_DBK01 Tempered Digital RGB by Alvin Bonifacio

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Defective fan, otherwise good case.

I gave the case a bad rating because one of the front fans was defective. It has bad vibrations and unfortunately I found that out after assembling the computer for several days. I have a video showing the problem. Otherwise a really good case, unfortunately the fans look cheap or poorly made. I contacted Phanteks to see if they would cover it under warranty and send me a new fan. I tried to buy a replacement case fan myself to avoid hassle and wasted time on warranty claims, but the fan has a 4 week delivery time (MetallicGear 120mm, 3 pins). Aside from the defective fan, this is a good case, excellent. Airflow and wire management. Ideal case for air-cooled builds. Temperatures were great and aside from a malfunctioning fan, it's pretty quiet. Plenty of space for the power supply and cables as well as practical SSD slots on the back of the case. The magnetic dust filter on top of the case is a nice touch. I don't use the front fan controls to light up the RGB fans since I'm using Asus Aura Sync. I have used the supplied Argb connector with case fans and connected it to my mobile phone's (Asus TUF x570) Argb connector to be able to control the RGB fans via software. Everything works as it should. I hope Phanteks takes care of my problem. My rating will be updated if this is the case or not, with my review score reflecting this. At this point I am disappointed that such a good case is immediately defective.
