Why I gave this set 5 stars: I don't like coated cookware! I don't like the idea of the coating peeling off during cooking or getting into the food. I don't like using "plastic" utensils (which melt and aren't very hygienic, easy to clean or germ free/resistant) to avoid scratching the coating, it's just awful. It's also uneconomical to constantly swap out all that dirt! I love "healthy" old fashioned stainless steel (SS) cookware! I can't afford heavy SS cookware so I bought this set. This is a very lightweight kit making it affordable and easily damaged if misused. I've had the set for a long time and am very grateful for the price. Because it is light, instantaneous and high heat can cause the pan to warp, it will flatten out. (You do NOT need to use that much heat when using stainless steel cookware.) I agree that the bad reviews are from inexperienced users of the product. I had no problems with pots or lids. SS and glass are VERY nice! This set will last as long as the SS. I recommend this set for those who just want to make ends meet, cook for health and know how to use SS cookware.
