We had to replace our old remote that came with our Toshiba TV as the power button sometimes worked and sometimes didn't. I ordered it and received it in two days as promised. It arrived in a bubble envelope. There were no batteries in this remote control. I don't think it is claimed to be so. What is good. We have batteries! Requires 2 AA batteries. It was easy to open and put in the batteries. After the back cover was closed, we tested the power button on the TV and it worked right away. There wasn't anything special we had to click on. It's been a few days and it's working as intended. It is exactly the same as our old remote control. The price is normal for a replacement. The quality seems solid, just like the old remote. There are no complaints yet.
