Fits, works and saved a lot of money

Now I'm a mechanic! The 2001 Ford Ranger is sleek again! I think I'll do one or two victory laps to enjoy the smooth-running 3-litre, 6-cylinder engine. For less than $40 and 30 minutes of my time, I got the truck running again. These efforts have resulted in hundreds of dollars (many hundreds) in savings, as indicated by a quote from Christian Brethren that was provided to me. So easy. Order the part from Revain (save $80 off the retail price) and receive it in two days. Open the hood, disconnect the battery, unscrew the 3 screws on the installed coil (after using Marks-A-Lot to number the spark plug leads), remove the leads. Spray more mosquito repellent. Open the box, place the new coil where the old one was and screw it in place with the screws you removed. Insert the wires of the connector according to the markings. Connect the positive clamp to the battery. Start the engine and you will see that the "Check Engine" light is no longer illuminated. The engine runs smoothly and everything is fine (so far) in the world. This isn't a rocket operation. can you do that Now another day - I bought new wires and spark plugs. The Christian brothers wanted to replace them - they said they were old. And indeed they are old - but the truck has 60,000 km. I figured the spark plugs would last at least 50,000 but ended up buying wires and spark plugs from Revain and saving myself a penny compared to local parts stores. This way (buy from Revain and install it myself) saves me about $1,000! Replacing the coil is like falling off a log. Replacing SP wires is a bit tricky but doesn't require skill. Replacing spark plugs is more cumbersome, you need the right tools and a little time. These steps are nothing but discussion and repetition. You don't need to know anything about how a gasoline engine works or how to tune it. In fact, this is nothing more than replacing a flat tire. Don't be fooled by how I would be until I told them NO. Give it a try and enjoy your success and your newfound money.
