I honestly do not feel that the "heavy compression" is all that heavy. Some compression socks actually feel like I am cutting off my circulation. These feel like a medium compression sock. I got the medium size which is good for a woman's size 9 foot. They are open toe as other other plantar fasciitis socks. I was able to wear these all day with a pair of ankle socks over them (as I am not fond of open toe). They worked well for me.I washed them in a lingerie bag and laid them flat to dry.Attached is a picture of the size chart (which is hard to find on revain) and the instructions in many languages.
