My 2008 Expedition suffered from constant front brake problems, calipers seizing, rotors warping quickly, overheating to the point of smoking and splattering water on wheels/hubs, etc. Tired of all that, so I replaced the flex hoses (which can break internally causing the caliper not to retract), calipers (loaded so they contain the bracket), Hawk LTS Truck/SUV pads, a full one Front to back liquid flushing and these high quality rotors instead of junk at auto parts stores. New components are also correctly installed (10 simple stops from 40 mph to 10 mph). The SUV stops better now than it did when we got it. If you apply constant pressure to the brake pedal, you can feel it gradually grabbing. I have a lot more confidence in quitting and that this combination will last. One thing I'm more aware of is that when fully stopped, especially at high speed or when towing, the pads don't stop in one spot on the rotors as this can cause local overheating. I have seen evidence of this in the form of bluing on old rotors. This can contribute to premature warping. With that knowledge and those quality rotors, I hope they survive the car.
