Review on πŸͺ’ Synthetic Shaving Brush - Trafalgar Series by Alexander Simpson - Faux Ivory Handle (T3) by Wendy Key

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great value for money

I've been using a wet shave/DE and brush for over 10 years. This is my honest review of the T3 after 12+ shaves. I've used the best badger hair brush before so I'll compare it to that and this is my first synthetic brush. I will say that the brush tips are much softer than my best badger. The size came out bigger than expected so be sure to check the size. As a lather, I usually use a mild soap. I have a small metal shaving bowl. I had time to get a decent lather with the bowl, I had more success washing my face. The instructions say to apply the soap to the face brush style and I find this works best although it took a few times to get it to work well but after a few tries I have no problem. Now for my only real complaint, which is a plus and a minus, the synthetic bushes don't hold water like a badger, so I find it best to brush the brush and dip in the soap and apply it to my face, them fell off as if I was getting more soap on my face and when necessary I lightly dip the tip of the bush in water and apply to my face. The lack of water retention also means it dries very quickly, which is a plus. I've also noticed that when I use scented soap, it doesn't hold as much scent as a badger brush. The build quality seems very good and I haven't lost a single fiber yet. I have to say that the price I paid for this brush at around $35 is well worth it. I want to order it earlier. While there's some trial and error, as I've found with most things wet shaving, things are a little different.

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Minor issues
