I recently threw away ALL my teflon nonstick pans. Teflon, itself a new material, is just a cancer in the pan. To replace all my teflon pans, I bought a very good 10 inch carbon steel skillet ($80) to cook all my meat and veggies in. I bought several stainless steel pans. for boiling water and making pasta etc. The real challenge was finding a non-stick pan for boiling eggs that was Teflon, PFOA and PTFE free. I'm a big fan of the gym and an advocate of healthy eating. I eat about 5 cups of protein a day. Attempting to cook egg whites in a carbon steel pan, or a pan that isn't truly non-stick, is extremely difficult, if not impossible. This copper pan did it! It will be exclusively for eggs. I cooked on medium to low. heat and spray on some coconut oil. I don't even use soap, I just rinse it off with water after the pan has cooled and towel dried. To be honest it's gotten even more sticky since I've been cooking this way. The eggs just slide out of the pan. I sincerely believe that the negative reviews come from people who just don't know how to cook and use strong fire. This is a slow cooker pan and a great egg pan.
