Review on Belkin F4U110Bt Thunderbolt Upstream Transfer and Charging for 3840X2160 by Chris Lloyd

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Noisy, doesn't work the first time, broken USB, weak cable, constant power cuts

If you click on this thing, it turns off and HDMI stops working. The cable is disconnected at the slightest movement, although it is still connected. USB ports almost never work. You have to disconnect and reconnect 5-10 times before anything happens and this is seemingly random. This behavior occurs with and without the charger connected to the docking station. I'm not sure how that's possible either, but it makes an extremely high pitched sound. It's not very loud, but it's very unusual for a docking station to make any noise at all, and this one makes an extremely high pitched sound. My job bought me this to use for remote work and I'm surprised anyone paid a few hundred dollars for it. Just looking at the quality made me think it was an under $30 product.

Pros
  • The new M1-based MacBooks do not support dual "extended" displays via the Thunderbolt 3 ports. This means that when using an M1-based MacBook, users will not be able to extend their desktop to dual displays via the Thunderbolt 3 port. Everyone else Docking station functions will work normally.
Cons
  • modernity
