I'm no expert at installing dog doors, but having installed 4 others before, I'm no beginner either. 1) The inner frame consists of 4 parts. Almost impossible to align when assembling the second side of the frame. It's like putting a jigsaw puzzle together in the dark. 2) I couldn't line up all 4 screw holes. The same was always off-center. After a few tries and a lot of choice cursing, I took everything out and tried to line it up on the floor. One of the holes is offset about 1/16 inch. So they don't go together. 3) The magnets that keep the lid closed are not strong enough. By simply opening and closing the front door, the sash swings back and forth. 4) The door covering the dog door is made of some kind of fragile press material. On my first attempt to put it back in place, one of the corners was faulty and I had to put it down for it to work. 5) Offer for buyers. Drill ALL the holes before cutting the hole for the frame. A loose aluminum door will bend if you try to drill holes for the studs after the fact. After over 3 hours and extensive use of sealant I have to replace the entire door to install a new dog door. That will have to wait until spring. I am not satisfied with this product. What were they thinking? Honestly, the small dog door design might be convenient, but the giant door was a nightmare.
