I usually buy very good quality shoes that offer good support and are durable. I have shoes for different purposes. I bought these to have a pair of slip ons to wear indoors at home. I don't wear them outside. In terms of quality, we find small, hard, tiny black pieces on the bottom that we identified as pieces of the outer bottom sole of this shoe. The rubber outsole on this shoe is very unusual and is divided into tiny sections, some diamond-shaped, others just 1/8 inch. So the little bits come off over time, although I rarely wear these shoes. As for the size, I bought a 13 medium. I didn't notice any problems until I started wearing them more often. Then I started noticing discomfort, especially in the toe area. So I compared the actual size of these shoes to all my other 13 medium shoes. I found both the heel and toe to be significantly narrower than any of my other shoes. This explains why my toes were getting pinched and the effects of wearing tight, ill-fitting shoes were beginning to show. Based on this experience, I will never buy Dunham shoes again (and they are New Balance branded shoes). This pair was a bit pricey and I have to forgo it to protect my legs even though I don't wear them at all. I choose my products carefully and this one was very disappointing.
