I bought this because we are now on keto and my old food processor grates the cauliflower horribly and makes a huge mess. This drum cutter does a great job of cooking cauliflower rice quickly with little to no cleanup time. We just love this cauliflower rice. It also grinds walnuts well. I use the coarse drum for both. The blades are very dull and the slicing knife is completely unusable for me. I prefer my V-shaped mandolin for slicing. He just ruined the zucchini. It can cut carrots, but the blade is so dull (I can run my finger over the blade without the slightest danger) that you have to twist the handle really hard and it popped a few times before I learned how to cut. turn it around This does not happen with cauliflower and walnuts on the coarse grating drum. Potatoes should be fine, but we don't eat them on a keto diet. If you want to grate potatoes, cauliflower, or nuts, that's fine. I'm happy with it because it does what I bought it for.
