Docsis 3.1 latest texhnology pros and cons here.

The product arrived in very nice packaging. Glossy splitbody packaging that is well shaped to protect the product and is naturally attractive. After separating and opening both halves they say it looks identical to my previous model but it is not. On closer inspection, it is the new version of Docsis 3.1, which is in high demand on the Internet. First you will notice two gigabit ports. Herein lies the downside, and so does every other branded D-3.1 modem on the market with multiple E-Net ports. You can only choose one. Attempting to use two will confuse the ISP and your devices will not work properly. You will need your ISP to assign a different ISP address to the second port and some may or may not choose this feature or charge you an additional $10 per month. Since it's not wireless either, you'll need to provide your own wireless router and any sub-Ethernet network ports if you decide to increase your incoming/outgoing connections. The advantages are obvious: This beast is insanely fast. Even with my iPhone, I get download speeds of 500MB/s and upload speeds of 40MB/s, which is a hardware limitation on my part, although this is ridiculously fast compared to most people's standard home devices. These speeds eliminate any streaming buffering issues and allow IT to download very large files super fast. For the price, I recommend the Arris SB8620, and if your service offers faster speeds, consider this model even for 250 or 400 Mbps speeds. It's more accurate than its SB6190 predecessor for these speeds.
