Ideal for lip gloss

I used to work with mica. Every year I make my own lipsticks with different plasticizers and dyes. This time I ordered Red Brown to create a mauve lipstick. This auburn in its purest form looks disturbingly peachy. But once I started mixing it with my soy wax blend and adding some zinc oxide (not a nano-coating) and then some yellow concealer, it came together really well. To test my product I use wooden popsicle sticks which I dip into the mixture and then apply to my left hand so that by the end of the process my left hand has around 13 different lip colors. Some notes: zinc oxide reduces shine and lightens color Organic soy wax is a good alternative to beeswax, it's cheaper and very easy to work with; Emollients can be anything from a small amount of coconut oil, shea butter, cocoa butter, etc. Concealer can serve as a very handy brightener while still providing a matte finish.
