This temperature sensor is pretty accurate. The first thing I did was calibrate it in ice water. Before calibration, it showed 2 degrees Fahrenheit (34 degrees). However, the adjustment is easy, so I reduced it by two degrees. I then checked it with an external probe which measured 31 degrees. After adjusting it a degree, I tried again with the built-in probe. Of course he measured 33 degrees, so the calibration for the two sensors is not separate. I'm happy with 1 degree of error for my purposes. The external sensor cable is about 3 feet long, which is adequate but maybe too short. It appears to be well sealed for messy environments, although time will tell. The plastic body feels solid, if perhaps a little light.
