This product works very well as a pen and we have also used it as a temporary fence. nice to have a place on the patio for them to roam around. In fact, we've merged some of these grips into a larger case. It holds up pretty well (it's more stable when there's only 8 panels) and when I use more panels it's pretty stable unless dogs try to jump on the panels, but they usually behave decently. I would like to point out that if we use more than 8 panels, the aviary will not be perfectly round, but we will tilt some of them. Panels inside or outside for more stability. I know it's not meant for that purpose, but we partitioned the back of my sister's yard with 48 inch tall panels and tall stakes to stabilize the panels and it worked great for that. ! My sister's dogs don't jump on slabs to keep things stable. And it's good to have a gate if she decides to let her dogs out in the yard. She has a fully fenced yard so we thought we could use these panels as temporary fencing (in other words the dogs can't leave her yard even if these panels don't fail because her entire yard is surrounded by real fences). I think the price is good. It folds into a convenient size and is portable. We leave ours on the patio most of the year and although it looks a little rusty it has weathered the weather and still works for us.
