I have had this brand of heating pads for my cats and dogs for many years and was pleased to know they are available for newly hatched chicks. This is a great product. The only change I made was to add three strips of mesh tape for some support as I was concerned about the splayed leg. It would be easier to clean if I left it that way, but I just use a cleaning brush and it still stays clean. I have 15 chicks in my brooder. Some people prefer this heating pad (below them) to the heating pad (above them). I'm glad I have both as I have Orpington chicks and due to their size required two heat sources. I've found that the number of chicks government companies can fit under heating products is slightly different (they tend to overestimate the number of chicks that can fit). 100% recommend this product and will continue to use during the transition period when I put them in a chicken coop and during very cold winters. You can put it on the floor or mount it on the wall. Love it.
