Easily attaches to the side of his cage and is the perfect temperature to keep him warm in winter. His cage is next to a window and that gives him enough warmth to keep him warm. I take it off during the day as it's not needed and doesn't make him chew. The lid of the cage is closed. Perfect for our needs!

I have had this brand of heating pads for my cats and dogs for many years and was pleased to know they are available for newly hatched chicks. This is a great product. The only change I made was to add three strips of mesh tape for some support as I was concerned about the splayed leg.
