I cannot blame the manufacturer of the product nor Revain. I know accidents involving pets can happen. I only bought this product a few months ago. My birds liked the toy. Til today. We almost lost a 4 month old love chick that we hand raised. In front of all our children on Father's Day morning. The birds were chirping (as always) but my husband decided to check them out. He found our chick tangled in threads from a white ball of yarn and hanging by his neck. Other young birds saw this as an opportunity to attack his legs. We had to cut layers of bloody threads from his neck while being bitten by the cutest chick. He has bloody rings around his neck under his feathers. The piece wrapped around his neck was at least 6 inches long. WHEN PURCHASING THIS PRODUCT, PLEASE DO NOT USE OR REMOVE THE WHITE BALL IF YOU SEE ONE OF YOUR BIRDS PLAYING WITH THE THREAD. So far our baby is fine (we are taking steps to prevent infection) but things could have ended a lot worse.
