Although I have never worn a face warmer, it was cold this year! Skiing and snow in the driveway gave me a cold headache, even with my hat on. I wanted something thick enough to keep my face warm on windy days. The material is about as thick as a sports shirt. The inner and outer parts as well as the soft fleece material offer comfort for long wear. There are holes on the front of the front cover for easier breathing. The holes let in some cool air when it's windy and you still have some moisture from your breath in the mouth area. All in all, I'd rather have a hole than struggle with fresh air. The Velcro is large enough to easily attach the face cap and allow for proper adjustment. The Velcro is just over 3 inches long on either side, giving you almost 6 inches of adjustment. It's also recessed around the edges, so I had no trouble tugging at my hair or snagging on my winter hat. Overall I was very happy with the fit, warmth and comfort for extended wear.
