These thermometers are quite small, the metal is quite thin (general appearance is ok). The measurements provided by the seller are of the packaging and not the thermometers, the glass dial is actually 1-5/8" in diameter. The array of printed numerals is approximately one inch in diameter. If you can see well, and smaller ones Prefer units these might be suitable for you., Two thermometers show 2° difference - can't tell which one shows exact temperature - assuming one of them.I've read reviews for different types, low price wasn't my main aim Conclusion, if all of the above works for you then it seems fine for basic temp monitoring.I replaced it with a larger Rubbermaid.Once again the units don't read exactly the same but it is easier to see acceptable readings.
