Received it today and I'm impressed. The image on the small screen is actually more than usable. I was planning on using a larger, higher resolution screen, but now that I'm using it, I think the built-in screen is sufficient. The picture is quite stable - even strong tapping on the base does not cause problems with jitter, etc. Likewise, adjusting the zoom / focus knob does not cause jitter, but pressing the buttons on the camera, due to some movement, causes the fact that they are up are and push them straight down. Use the remote control when zoomed in too far to fix this problem. Incidentally, the remote uses a 3V CR2025 battery. Including the HDMI cable that protrudes from the top of the camera, you only need 20 inches high and about 13 1/2 inches wide, including the monitor, to fit this rig on your desk place. There is an option for a crosshair, which is pretty cool. Also, there are lines you can play with, like the grid. Haven't done anything with them yet, but they look like you can use them to smooth things out in a repeatable way if you keep the magnification constant. 5 vertical, 5 horizontal, with adjustable settings for each of the 10 lines including, I believe, setting their color to transparent to effectively remove them. The LED ring light is pretty bright, and it's nice that it has an adjustment knob. Place the screen on the right side so you have access to the height adjustment knob. As I set it up now, I have about 6 inches of workspace under the lens and ring light. More than enough. That is, fully adjustable. I could enlarge the lens if needed, but where it's located seems right to me. If I need to take a closer look I can also use the digital zoom which is really impressive. At full magnification I don't see any artefacts. The remote sensor is where the buttons are which makes it difficult to use but mine works unlike the other browsers. The base is half plastic, half metal. The actual work area is metal, which is very important as most people will be using hot air. However, I still have to test it. I took a few photos and saved them to a 32GB micro SD card which I inserted and formatted. Using the menu to format the card doesn't give you any information on whether it worked or not, FYI. Also, all HDMI on-screen menus are in Chinese. I haven't figured out how to change this, but it doesn't seem to matter either.
