Bought this KVM switch to connect a new Dell I bought for my mom. She had an old system with WinMe and didn't want to change it so she could connect both systems and get used to the new OS in time. We connected a monitor and keyboard to share between both systems. (I think they also shared a mouse.) It connected without any problems, although I have to agree with the reviewer who commented on cables connecting a mouse on all four sides. In this case, it takes up more space than it should. You install the software, and then a green icon will appear in the system tray, which you can use to quickly switch. an older system, although still connected.
