I had some of the same problems as others in this thread. I've had the iron for about a year and over the last few months I've noticed material bubbling around the top of the iron (and now part of the plastic top case is breaking). Also, I notice that the iron doesn't get as hot as it used to. I probably use the iron 5 days a week at 390 degrees, which isn't even peak temperature. Basically, the iron fails after a year, which is incredibly disappointing given the cost.
