So I open the box, everything seems fine, but then I noticed that the SD card compartment is empty. I had to take everything out of the box to find the SD card at the bottom. I just connected the board to the test screen and got an error saying the board needs a newer version of the software and won't boot. Thank goodness I had a few other Raspberry Pi operating systems and was able to boot them onto the board with no problem, so I think all the hardware will be fine. Next week I plan to have my son assemble the touch screen. I'll try to come back and update this review after we're done. The video on the Amazon site is ok but doesn't show the contacts very well. So if you don't know the 26 contacts by heart, I've attached a chart to help you. They give you 4 wires, but the video only shows using red pin 2 (1st outside) 5V+ and black pin 6 ground (3rd from bottom outside) NOT 4 pins (second bottom, also 5V positive). I had a fan that I added, so I ended up with a red wire on pin 2 and a black wire on pin 14 to ground, and my fan was on pins 4 and 6. The display was flipped for the case. I read that it was due to the OS update. To fix this, open a terminal and type sudo nano /boot/config.txt. This opens the configuration file. scroll down and add the line lcd_rotate=2, then save and exit. Reboot and the screen should rotate correctly. Another thing that would be really nice, and I think I'll update my case somehow, is that with the case on, you can't access the micro SD card without unscrewing the entire case. I will have a port on the outside of the case to make it easier for me to change the SD card. I believe there are other similar cases that already have this. The touchscreen is ok, it's only good to touch, but the screen itself could be a bit better. This will work, but can damage your eyes if you stay on it for too long. So this is my update now. Next time I'll most likely look for a different touchscreen case with an externally accessible SD card. but he turned on the pi and the touch screen. I ordered the battery I used from Revain: here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07K19TVFP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This is a Super Slim Power Bank Ultra Thin Triple USB Outlet Attom Tech Mini Portable Charger 5000mAh Power Bank for Phone Small Dual Socket Phone Backup Power (White) Hope this helps and good luck.
