Review on 🍾 Effortlessly Uncork with the True Soar Black and Silver Winged Corkscrew: A Self-Centering Worm Bottle Opener by Mike Davan

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nicely done; needs some design improvements.

I bought this to see if it could open a type of wine that has always been problematic for our other corkscrews/wine keys: Moscato d'Asti. The corks expand a bit into the mouth of the throat (due to the fizz) and sometimes cause us to break cheap "free” wine keys. (My "everyday bag" is the Code 38 Stealth.) This corkscrew has a split screw (like a drill or twist drill) instead of the wire screw found on many corkscrews. It's also quite short, and the train length is also quite short. I had to turn the screw all the way in, pull all the way in, turn the screw a few more turns, pull some more, and repeat again to get the 1 1/4" plug (32mm; not very long). By fitting the Pushing the rod that deep into the cork it buckled a bit but didn't actually break. This corkscrew is nicely made and heavy enough to be comfortable in your hand, but I would have preferred a longer wire screw. , and a longer stroke, to remove the long corks found in many Italian wines.

Cons
