Stopped damaging walls
The white natural rubber bumpers on half a dozen door stops in our house were old and starting to dry, rot, crumble and decay on the walls or the door. I didn't want to replace the cast brass hardware with inferior magnesium alloy door stops, so I used these silicone rubber stops, which only took a few minutes to replace. My guess is that silicone rubber doesn't rot as quickly as stock natural rubber bumpers. The option to choose a dark color (black) also made the doors more attractive.
