No more rocking!: Shock absorbers, struts and suspension

New Harmonic Balancer fits perfectly. The pulley no longer wobbles. Installation was easier than expected, but I did have an impact wrench to remove the screw. The hardest part of the job was installing the new pulley without using a Chrysler installation tool. Here's what I did: I went to a hardware store and bought an M10 1.50 bolt and nut that had threads in the crankshaft ('97 T&C 3.8L). The bolt should be at least two inches longer than the removed bolt to make room for adding a nut and some thick washers (the washers should be about 2.0 inches in diameter). Place the HB onto the crank head and tap VERY gently to ensure the HB is straight. Thread the nut all the way onto the new bolt, then add the washers (put some grease between the washers). Then screw the screw into the crank head until it stops (meaning it is screwed all the way in). Then use the wrench to slowly turn the nut so that it presses the washers against the HB. You have to make a lot of effort to turn the key because the HB doesn't last long. IMPORTANT: Make sure the HB moves straight and perfectly perpendicular to the crank outlet throughout the process. Continue turning the nut slowly until it stops turning. At this point the HB should be fully seated on the crank. Make sure it's back where the original HB was. Now remove the screw with all the washers and the nut. The last step is to mount the original screw (very tight!).
