Cartoon cats got me ^^"" I'm a total dog person but I mean COME LOOK AT THEIR LITTLE FACES! Actually it is 8 cats, same design front and back. I have another bowl of this size and prefer this mini bowl over the larger bowls. I purchased a 10 fl oz mini tetsubin kettle from the same seller (also on Etsy) and use it to stir the matcha as it settles to the bottom. I've only ever used the long handled whisk, which is thinner, so I don't know how the traditional thick whisk compares. Even though the bowl is smaller, you can still get plenty of foam. The amount of foam you get will always depend on the matcha to water ratio. If you want a full cup; Add the matcha to about 1.5-2 fl oz of water, whisk, then slowly pour in the remaining water/milk toward the rim of the bowl so as not to interfere with the foam. I would recommend not using metal utensils as there is always a risk of scratching the glaze. The bowl is thick, so it absorbs a lot of heat, causing the tea to cool faster. The cup is naturally hot, but should not be used with water that is too hot, especially green tea. Place the base of the bowl on your fingers and hold it close to the rim - this will give you a good grip as it cools. Again LOVE this bowl! Highly recommended! Great gift idea!** Use your own judgment when purchasing Matcha, but I recommend the AprikaLife brand. An exceptional "culinary quality" and they offer a small sample size of 1.05 ounces. After a year of use I just bought the size 1lb. Again just a suggestion** :)
