So when I took it out of the box I was disappointed with the look and quality of the back of the box attached to the inside of the is attached door. There is no photo of the back on the Revain listing for this item and there is a reason for that. The back is molded in black plastic - cheap looking black plastic. The inside door latch handle is also black plastic and is plastic to the end that attaches to the latch pin. The battery cover is black plastic, difficult to remove, held in place by 6 attached thin plastic tabs. I thought I broke the battery cover by tearing it off. Luckily not, but when I saw it fastened with little plastic clasps I thought a couple of times as I took it off, and it was probably going to break. I had already decided to return it when my wife returned home. She saw this item on the table and informed me that she didn't want that ugly black box on the inside of our door. So I thought the part of the box was low quality and she thought it was ugly! This would be our second keyless deadbolt. Our first has a metallic nickel box inside that matches the outside. I think I assumed they all do. No! The front with the keyboard looks nice, no problems. The material of the front is high quality and has a nice nickel finish. But unless you're buying it for business or commercial purposes, you probably won't like the black interior. I'm giving it 3 stars because if you can put up with the looks of the box for less than $40, that's a good starting price, and the outside of the keyboard looks nice. Whether or not the plastic parts hold up is up to you.
