Review on ๐Ÿ”ง 6.5L Pneumatic/Manual Oil Extractor Pump for Automotive Fluids - Efficient Vacuum Evacuation by Darius Glatzel

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Beautiful, if it weren't for a small disturbing detail.

Made in China but don't let that put you off. It feels solid and well made, finished and put together. It's not shown in the photos, but it has an inverted toe like the Mityvac. It develops suction power quickly and with just a few movements. The pump cylinder inside is made of aluminum. It features overflow float protection for manual and pneumatic vacuum pumps, and vacuum relief. The three drain hoses are made of the same tough nylon as the Mityvac. It comes with a detailed parts list, but it doesn't indicate where to order replacement parts. There are no instructions included, so it doesn't take long to understand. My biggest complaint and lack of a 5 star rating is that it doesn't have an opening lid. If you need to transport the complete installation to your local oil disposal center you will either need to come up with some sort of plug or leave the (drip) hose connected. Mityvac has a cap on their vacuum cleaners. I'm very surprised that the manufacturer overlooked such a simple thing, the parts list also doesn't list an end cap. The bore is just under 1-1/4" and the adapter is 1.22" without the o-ring. I will most likely exit the device and make some sort of cover, maybe a regular PVC plug that could be adapted for the same purpose.
