I'm in Florida and summer is fast approaching. I bought this to remove moisture from my 1040 sf apartment. It's been running at 40% humidity since yesterday and only gets to 50%, but today it's 83% humidity outside, so I think it's doing its job well. I bought a large container here because of the terrible humidity, but can't expect it to keep the desert dry when it's swampy outside. The car is quiet - except for the noise of the fan, so it's easy to walk away nearby. It's also encased in metal instead of plastic, so it's durable too. All in all a great product at a really reasonable price.
