For the price it was perfect! I have a stereo set up in my basement with speakers there and also in the living room upstairs. It was difficult to get the volume right upstairs in the basement. With this IR extender I can now use the full stereo remote control function from above. Not just volume, but everything! The main reason I chose this one was that it included a long cord (about 25 feet) that allowed me to reach the stereo from a convenient spot in the living room. I wish it didn't require a permanent AC connection. Also, it would be a lot easier to run the cable through the wall if the longer cable had a break at the end of the receiver to make it easier to run the cable through floor/wall holes.
