As a professional natural skincare formula, I decided to try this myself in some of my products. Within days of mixing my formulas and letting them sit for 10 days (and not necessarily opening and using, mind you), my water-based formulas smelled like "yeast". I haven't had an official microcall, but I can assure you that this product is not a legal skincare preservative! When a beginner relies on this as a preservative system for a water-based formula (and under the right conditions), they are actually risking their health. For example, eye contact with a poorly preserved water soluble product can result in a serious eye infection. I use other natural preservation systems that work very well and pass standardized microbial challenge tests. Btw, google "leucidal" and see what you find.
