No ProblemI: Treatments and Masks

I purchased this product in January 2021 and used it at a 3% concentration in my homemade oil and water based body lotions. I was a bit hesitant based on some reviews that mentioned mold and also read that this particular formula is not considered a full spectrum preservative. I made the first batch with this product in March 2021 and it is still stable to this day November 2021 (no mold or weird smells). I made 4 batches in total and all had no stability issues. I've been using my lotions for…

For DIY cosmetics and skin care products

I use this in DIY skin care products to prevent bacterial growth and pollution and extend the life of the products. It works! Small things have a big impact. Antimicrobial ingredients are a must if you're into DIY skincare. I've never had any sensitivity or allergy issues with this ingredient, but your mileage may vary! Test everything with a skin patch test before use!

Pros
  • Trial period for one year
Cons
  • Disappear

I've been using Leucidal Liquid for years as a non-chemical preservative/antimicrobial in my DIY skincare products and I have to say that's about it Distance my favorite! You get a pretty decent size (30mL) for the price, and the amber dropper bottle makes it SO easy to add precise amounts to my formulations (compared to a regular bottle or syringe tube). I also salute any cosmetics company that packages their products in amber glass bottles (keep out of the sunlight!)

  • Perfect for outdoor activities

Not really a preservative.

Not very happy with this preservative. It seems that the only way to benefit is if you use the highest percentage that the bottle recommends, namely 4%, without adding that amount you will not be able to keep your product longer than, despite the size of the product a week or two. Maybe three weeks is a long time. Mold appeared when a preservative was used within a short period of time. Which isn't beneficial if you take the time to add it to a product to make it last longer. Wouldn't buy…

Great product for home projects!

Bought this product to make an after sun facial spray based on herbivore ingredients. I mixed the product as recommended, after combining with the other ingredients the mixture was cloudy at first but then cleared after about 20 minutes. I'm very happy with how my spray turned out and haven't had any problems with it so far. Will definitely be buying more of this product and possibly others from this seller.

DON'T, I repeat, DON'T trust this preservative!

As a professional natural skincare formula, I decided to try this myself in some of my products. Within days of mixing my formulas and letting them sit for 10 days (and not necessarily opening and using, mind you), my water-based formulas smelled like "yeast". I haven't had an official microcall, but I can assure you that this product is not a legal skincare preservative! When a beginner relies on this as a preservative system for a water-based formula (and under the right conditions), they are

Great natural preservative!

I have used other preservatives in my skincare blends and was happy to find this natural alternative. It has a very light herbal scent (reminds me of Asian radish, daikon) but it's not offensive and quickly dissipates before my serum or lotion is absorbed. Also very happy with the customer service as well as free DIY recipes! I look forward to trying out their prebuilt custom bases when I'm too busy putting something together from scratch.
