Review on 🔌 TEMCo High-Performance Heavy Duty Switch CN0003 by Michael Glassburn

I use this footswitch to control a high-power resistance soldering block that can draw up to 1800 watts (15 amps). This switch is perfect for the job. The body is made of durable die-cast metal. The electrical switch is a high quality switch with contacts rated at 15A at 120V, 240V and even 600V AC. This switch is not shipped pre-wired. You must provide and attach your own wire. You must use 14 AWG or larger wire if you intend to operate the switch at its full 15A current rating. 16 AWG is good for short runs and occasional use. The switch can be connected either normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC) as required. The contacts are pan head screws and should be used with crimp connectors for the best and most secure connection. The screw heads are not as large as the screw heads of (for example) standard 120V 15A duplex outlets and it can be difficult to secure the wire under the screw heads. If you are not sure what you are doing, consult a licensed electrician. Another good feature of this switch is that it has two small holes in the base so it can be permanently screwed to the ground in one spot and won. so you don't get kicked unintentionally. Customers should also note that the switch contact current rating is lower for DC - 5 amps at 120V DC. This will rarely happen, but you should be aware of the limitations if you intend to use higher voltage DC applications. (This does not apply to normal household voltage, which of course is AC.)
