Review on Reversing License Replacement Waterproof Function by Hugo Caywood

Will not fit e39 estate/wagon

e39 is BMW 5 series from 1996 to 2003. On my 2002 this was difficult to set up and install. In sedans, the entire trunk light extends to change it, in station wagons only the lamp cover from the outside. Space for the camera and cables in the hatch. I've done this multiple times for other reasons, and you'll almost certainly break the nasty plastic latches every time, making a reliable reinstall difficult. fit. I was able to get the locking tabs to grab when needed, but I had to thin the camera mount until I could slide it far enough to get to the tabs. You will also receive notifications as soon as you replace your license plate light. from the car about the non-functioning license plate light. That's because the e39 has a light computer that regularly checks each bulb, even when it's off. With an LED you will see that it flashes quickly and regularly while testing it. This is imperceptible with normal incandescent lamps. And since the LED draws much less power, the computer thinks it's out of order. Putting a resistor in line with the LED would solve this problem. And finally, the cinch cable for the camera signal is about 3 meters too short. Overall the camera seems good although I haven't used it at night yet. I think it's just really bad for E39 Touring owners.
