I can finally use my MacBook Air (2012) with a Dell monitor

I bought a used Dell monitor to use with my MacBook Air. I was about to buy another monitor thinking it was incompatible. I've been trying for months and my Mac doesn't wake up to the monitor or know it's plugged in. I'm glad I decided to try this adapter before throwing my monitor away. A few minutes later I was connected to my monitor - it was easy! i am sooo happy Thanks very much!
