nice mirror Difficult to install

Overall I am happy with this mirror. The optical quality of the mirror surface and the magnification are very good. I would have preferred the brushed nickel finish to the shiny chrome. But the company did not offer a nickel finish at the time of my purchase. So it's not the product. I got exactly what I ordered. The reason I only gave 3 stars is the installation. First, the instructions weren't very clear. Although I've done quite a bit of house wiring. That way I didn't need a lot of instructions. The biggest problem was that there was no room for cable connectors inside the rectangular wall base. Therefore, all connections must be made inside the panel INSIDE the wall. This shouldn't be a problem, except that the mounting plate that attaches the mirror to the wall completely covers the hole in the electrical box in the wall. So you have to pull the house wiring out of the wall through the small hole in the mounting plate, then make all the connections on the outside of the box, and then push the plugs and wires back through the hole in the plate to get them out of the mounting plate. long before the mirror base is attached to the wall. With such a small opening in the mounting plate, it's impossible to visually inspect the wires and connections by pushing them through this small opening to make sure the connections are secure and tight before closing everything. And all of this has to be done while holding this mirror up with just the 3 inch wire coming from the base of the mirror. Without an assistant, it would be almost impossible to hold the fragile mirror while connecting. I think this product would have been better if they redesigned the mounting plate to allow better access to the electrical box in the wall. Also, they should have provided longer wires from the base of the mirror so you have more room for your hands all these connections. a model with a straight cord, so we have a neat installation without plugging cords into an outlet. In hindsight, I'm not sure if it was worth the hassle of installing it. If I had to buy again, I might choose a model that plugs into an outlet.
