Jerdon JRT710NLD 6 5 Inch 9 Inch Rectangular Review

I've used Baci and Nameeks mirrors in previous homes but they're bloody expensive. I thought I might try one that would be a lot cheaper. Jerdon is a good mirror, but not as good as those that cost ten times more. Its surface is slightly smaller. My biggest requirement is the lights - they are very bright, so bright that it's difficult to see the image in the mirror. I would give 5* if it had a dimmer!

THE MIRROR SURFACE IS VERY BEAUTIFUL AND LOOKS QUALITY. COLOR TEMPERATURE IS VERY COLD, APPROX. 5500 TO 6000K. WISH IT WAS ABOUT 4000K. THIS USES A NON-STANDARD ELECTRICAL BOX. THERE IS NO PLACE FOR WIRES BEHIND THE ELECTRICAL BOX. IT WAS DIFFICULT TO HOLD AND HOLD AT THE SAME TIME. I HAVE TO ALTER THE BOX AND DRILL HOLES to make it fit. I UNDERSTAND HOW THIN THE WALL BOX IS SO THEY LOOK VERY SMOOTH. DIFFICULT INSTALLATION BY THIS FACT. I agreed to get the look.

The mirror is not enough for the light supplied. The illuminated bezel is about as wide as the distance between your eyes. Dazzling and narrow, you'll see smudges until you learn to look away when you turn it on. I bought it to shave and it was too narrow so I put it on the side and it helped. The mirror was in excellent condition when it arrived. I wired and installed it myself using an old working switch box. It feels as solid as anything a pro can make. This was my first electrical project but after doing a lot of research on the internet it was easy since I had an outlet nearby. Bought as a gift for my father for Father's Day. My mom and I installed it and the cords weren't long enough to get it to the outlet which was only 5 inches below. I had to run new cables to make it work. There's a metal plate on the back that's attached to protect the cables, but we couldn't install the base without removing the screws from the metal plate. My wife loves this mirror. However, it was a PIA to install! The pigtail wires are too short, the wires were only about 3 inches long, making it very difficult to connect to house wiring. The wall mounting plate should have large holes for wiring. The cable cover needs to be positioned so that there is more room for the wall mount screws - now I'd like to take it off and throw it away as it really serves no purpose other than to hide ugly factory cables. When I first ordered this product it arrived broken. The mirror has detached from the frame. Hubs and I tried to fix it to no avail. So we asked for another one. It has arrived safely. I have to say that this is a PITA install. The small box that the cables run in and the smaller screws that attach the unit to the wall were a real problem. Overall I am happy with this mirror. The optical quality of the mirror surface and the magnification are very good. I would have preferred the brushed nickel finish to the shiny chrome.
