First, these filters have a hole or water inlet in a small square ledge that secures the cover to the filter housing (probably to save money/time in production). Otherwise the O-ring around the filter would not have allowed the water to exit the filter housing in the first place. The flow is definitely faster, the taste is the same as our PUR branded filters (they are labeled as clean*) so it is more than likely to filter less, but this is just an opinion. In general, the water after the filter is of better quality than without it, so the product does the job described. Should people stop expecting the same quality for a fraction of the price, when did that happen? I will buy this again.
