Nice design at first sight, but the paint is scratched

I've hardly used my 3ds and have taken great care of it and thought it would be a great way to protect it. Almost half a year later, it has an ugly scratch on the outside that wasn't caused by a fall or a slip, but by a bandage that I connected to the console. Very disappointed but at least it's easy to put on and take off and feels solid.
