Review on 🚘 Duragloss 951 Automotive Aquawax: Premium Protection for Your Vehicle - 22 oz. by James Roberts

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The only product you need to keep your car looking good between traditional waxes

About 3 years ago I decided to test several car care products to find out what I liked best in each category (regular wax, spray wax, spray detailer, interior trim, tire care, etc. d.). I wanted to simplify and standardize so I wouldn't have to spend extra time shopping or researching (what can I say, I'm a car enthusiast and engineer). I have tested almost every wax spray available from Revain (Mothers, Maguiars, 3M, Lucas, Zymol, Eagle 1, Turtle Wax, Migliore, Chemical Guys, Griot's, Surf City, 303 Products, the list goes on) on multiple vehicles in my family (Toyota Camry, Subaru Impreza, Subaru Legacy, VW GTI, BMW 740, Acura RL, Infiniti G35). I tested all 4 seasons in 2 states (California and Montana). My criteria for choosing my favorite product were shine, durability and ease of application/removal. After testing all of the above products, I settled on Duragloss 951 as the only spray I would buy in the future. Lest you think I'm a Duragloss fan, I went with products from other manufacturers in other categories (303 Aerospace for interiors and Mothers Reflections for traditional wax). 951 really shines (see what I did there?) with ease of application and removal. It sprays evenly and wipes off easily without much effort. This is important because the more you have to rub your car to remove the product, the more likely you are to accidentally scratch the paintwork. It's not that the 951 is far ahead of the other products, as they're all good overall it's a matter of degree but it's enough for me to notice a difference. As for the shine, which is the real reason car enthusiasts spend time waxing their car, the 951 leaves a very reflective and slippery finish. Insects and dirt slide off immediately. The 951's durability is as good as the best of its kind, even in Montana winters where the roads are covered in salt and mud. If you're looking for second place, I'd put Surf City's Barrier Reef and Turtle Wax Ice in second place. Barrier Reef is excellent and leaves a very long lasting shine, but it's a thicker product that tends to overspray. If you leave out overspray, it dries into white specks that stand out. Because it's thicker it's actually a bit more durable and would be good if you want to protect the rims from salt, but the extra work required to manage and remove overspray makes it just a notch below the 951 overall. . Turtle Wax Ice is good too, but doesn't seem to come off as easily as 951. Bottom line, if you want your daily drivers to look better than new and need a product that you can use on the entire exterior (paint, glass , plastic, chrome), just dial 951. Also, you don't need to spend extra money on premium products to get the best results. The only reason I can think of testing other products is if you are preparing exotics for a judges event like the Concours, but how many of us actually do that?
